Our friends up in Canada had a fun weekend racing at the Can Am Watercross season kick off. Our good friend Amy Green, the promoter, gave us the official word on the racing up in Caseville, MI.
Rounds 1&2 of the CanAm Tour are now in the books after a successful weekend of racing at the Bella Vista Resort in Caseville, MI. Mother nature provided some big fresh water surf on Saturday and a much calmer sunny day on Sunday, making for an exciting mix of conditions for racers from across the US and Canada. Sea-Doo’s Jay Edworthy earned ironman status racing four classes on three different hulls, and taking the top spots both days in ProAm Runabout Stock and Runabout 1000SS. Dave Davidson was battling a virus and lacking energy in his attempt to defend the ProAm Ski Stock title among a roster of returning champions and strong young riders, allowing Yamaha rider Jake Zier to pull off wins both days. JetX racer Andrew Bezan took the win in Runabout Rec Lites for both rounds, with Riva Racing’s Paul Green and RAAMS Racing’s newest pilot, Jon Hoffer, swapping 2nd place finishes. Ontario’s Shannon O’Connor twice winning the Girl’s Junior class, with BNJ Parts’ racer Hannah Hulett finishing second. Thanks to our sponsors: Sea-Doo, Yamaha, Unique Tool & Gauge, React Tool & Mold, Belle River BIA, Keystone Groundworks, Wonderland Marine West, and Pro Watercraft Racing.
Rounds 3&4 will be held July 25&26 in conjuction with Belle River, Ontario’s Sunsplash Festival.
