Kevin Reiterer is currently one of the fiercest riders in the Pro Ski division. We talked with him earlier this year on why he is #DrivenByPassion, check out the exclusive interview presented by Pro Watercraft Racing.com.
Kevin, you are arguably one of the most passionate athletes in our sport. Despite whatever ups or downs you may have, how do you keep your passion burning? What drives you?
Í want to better myself and take on the challenge to set a mark in the sport I love as an Icon. I love what I do and I don’t feel like working hard when I am training or testing. This is what I love to do and if you are able to do what you love you will not work a single day in your life. My motivation simple is doing what I love and the will of pushing the my own limits each day.
At the moment, you seem to be on top of the world. What goals do you have now?
I am just continuing that way I guess. I want to achieve 10 World Titles, as Jeff Jacobs, has but with the World Finals shifting in the last years to another main championship this will be a bit more complicated. My goal is to evolve myself and win Championships.
Why do you think it’s important for a racer to have passion?
I have seen Champions over the years, that had other motivation and were going through hell. They work so hard to achieve their goals and might be a Champion in the end. However not really a happy Champion. Passion gives you that feeling. If you are doing what you are passionate about, you will do what you love and enjoy every second of what you do. For me this is the most important ground instrument of motivation. Not everyone with passion might become a Champion but these guys will absolutely enjoy what they do.
I know you run some Pro Watercraft products on your machines, which products do you use? What do you like about them?
I am using the Pro Watercraft Racing.com front sponsons on my Stock and Limited Skis with the Pro Watercraft Racing.com rideplate. The sponsons created so much grip in the front that I can keep my momentum in my corners. This increased my corner speed by far! Any rider who is looking for a better handling ski should consider Pro Watercraft Racing.com products. However, depending on his riding style there are different angles you can mount handling products and different handling products for each individual riding style. I would not recommend my exact handling setup to everyone.

What are your plans for the rest of the season?
Finishing my first year at the UIM Aquabike World Championship on the overall podium after a 0 point finish in Qatar, and finally taking back home the King’s Cup Trophy.
