Tucked into a business complex in Anthem, AZ, is one of the world’s most well known performance PWC shop — Kommander Industries — home to top of the line products and builds overseen by none other than Steve Webster and Dustin Motzouris. MotorActionMedia.com had the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes at Kommander.
One of the coolest parts of the Kommander Industries headquarters is the massive showroom as you step into the building. You are immediately greeted by a huge selection of personal watercraft — both standups and runabouts — some manufacturer’s stock, and others are custom Kommander Industries builds. Posters, plaques and trophies are spread along the walls — each marking the achievements of their team riders. The second showroom has walls lined nearly to the ceiling with colorful Burn Industries riding gear: wetsuits, life vests and rash guards are on display. The showroom is separated from the huge work shop by two doors. On the other side of this door is where the magic happens. Shelves are lined with motors, parts and other components; and the room itself is full of Jet Skis.
Kommander Industries is most dominantly known for their quality engine work — whether it be two-strokes or four-strokes, runabouts or standups. They are also a Yamaha dealer, and get their hands on nearly any Jet Ski parts you need. As of last year, Kommander Industries has also begun selling their very own aftermarket stand up hulls, the Kommander K1 & S1.
One of the coolest things about Kommander Industries is the undeniable camaraderie between the Krew. Whether it be at the beach testing skis, in the shop wrenching, or at the Webster’s Superbowl party — it’s obvious that the team has good chemistry.
