Motor Action Media interviews one of the AmsOil Arenacross circuit’s fastest riders, TiLube/Husqvarna-backed Kyle Regal.
Motor Action Media: Kyle, could you tell me how you got involved in dirtbike racing?
It’s a long story, but my older sister actually got me into racing. Growing up I used to be known as “Casaundra Regal’s brother” and got all her hand me downs!
MAM: How has your season been going so far? What plans do you have for the rest of the year? What’s your goal for this season?
The season has been going great this year and I feel like I have really good speed!! Just got to clean up my mistakes so I can give myself the best chance to win this championship!!
MAM: I have had the pleasure of seeing you race the past two weekends and have noticed that you are a very aggressive rider. You make it look easy to attack tough track sessions like the whoops, and you make it look effortless, what advice do you have for racers that may struggle with whoop sections?
The biggest thing is to have confidence in your program during the week and have your homework done for the bike set up and race day should go easy if you can control your emotions!
MAM: Could you tell me about your ride this year, the bike looks awesome and fast.
Yeah, my bike is amazing this year! All the guys at TILUBE Tuf Racing Husqvarna are doing a great job and giving me an amazing bike to try to win on!
MAM: What do you think it takes to become a successful Arenacross racer?
To be a successful Arenacross racer, I think you have to be aggressive but also consistent with your starts and whoops. I think those are the two biggest parts of the race, and I really try to be on my game in those two areas when the gate drops.
MAM: Could you tell me about your training regiment?
During the week I actually have a little bit different program then most racers and it’s based around helping and teaching kids to ride. I have a program during the week that I get the chance to do my riding in training in the morning out at Quick’s Moto Ranch and then I help the kids in the afternoons ‘til dark!
MAM: What has been your favorite memory this season?
My favorite memory this year has probably got to be getting the red plate this past weekend in Council Bluffs!
MAM: What is your favorite thing about racing dirt bikes?
My favorite thing about racing dirt bikes has to be winning, but it’s all goes back to the hard work I put in during the week, and having that pay off is something that’s really cool to see!
MAM: Do you have anyone you would like to thank?
I’d like to thank the whole TILUBE Tuf Racing Husqvarna team and also everyone involved with my during the week program!! And thanks Motor Action Media, see y’all at the races!
