BOSSMAN’S TECH TIP: Smooth as Butter Bunks

Do you want your skis to slide on and off your trailer with ease? The Boss Man has a cheap and simple tech tip to make loading and unloading smooth as butter.

1. Get some 1-1/4 inch thin wall PVC pipe (this is the low pressure PVC pipe and it is currently available at Lowes. Don’t get the regular schedule 40 PVC pipe its not flexible enough for this installation method).

2. Using an osculating saw, cut the pipe a little longer than your bunk.

3. Next turn the pipe so the words printed on it are facing up and with the osculating saw cut a fairly straight line by following the words.

4. Spread the end open and push as much onto the bunk as you can.

5. With a block of wood and a hammer, hit the end until the PVC is covering the entire bunk with a little hanging over the rear.

6. Use the osculating saw to trim the rear end flush with the bunk.

7. To make the skis slide easier, rub some paste wax onto the PCV  and reapply every 3 or 4 times you use your trailer.
