TECH REVIEW: Pro Watercraft-style Jettrim tray mats

When I first started racing, I was using the typical tray mat package: a flat tray mat, a tall and straight kick wedge, and side mats with long ankle lifters. As my riding became more aggressive, I found myself slipping in the tray. To fix this slipping, Pro Watercraft Racing recommended that I use their custom designed Jettrim mat set. The Pro Watercraft mat style has a small camel hump in the front of the mats, an angled wedge on the back of the mats, and the side mats have small ankle lifters in the front, and longer ankle lifters in the back; the front lifters are meant to keep your ankle locked into place while applying pressure on your front foot through turns. The rear lifters are meant as a spot for your feet to lock in when the water gets choppy. I was amazed by how this change in my mat design impacted my riding. Not only were my feet staying planted; but the mat design also forced my feet into the correct riding position and allowed me to make turns with less effort. Its little handling components like this that allows a rider to really push themselves and their ski to their full potential.
