SPOTLIGHT: Jonathan Mangan

MotorActionMedia.com catches a few seconds with Jonathan Mangan, member of team JetRenu and one of the racers who went after the LB2CAT endurance title.

unnamed-2Jonathan, could you tell me a little about how you got involved in Jet Ski Racing?

We had skis growing up. And when I watched Minoru Kanamori win his world title, I wanted to race since that moment.
Outside of racing, I am a commercial electrician.
I understand you raced the LB2CAT race this weekend, was this your first time or were you a returning competitor? How did it go?

I am a returning competitor and I placed 3rd in my Pro Am class at the 2015 Long Beach to Catalina race.

Could you tell me a little about your race machine?

This year I ran my wife’s ski, which is a Kawasaki 300.
What are your goals for the rest of the season? How about the LB2CAT next year?

My goals are to do the best I can. I am looking forward to the World Finals and the Mark Hahn and returning to the LB2CAT.
I also understand that you are a member of team JetRenu, what are your favorite JetRenu products to use on your machine? Why do you prefer them?

My favorites are the JetRenu Pink and the JetRenu Purple Wash & Wax and the JetRenu Yellow Degreaser. They are better than other products on the market.

What advice do you have for young athletes who want to get involved in endurance racing?

My advise is follow your dreams and don’t give up.
Do you race both endurance racing and JMX (Jet Ski motocross)?

I do, I race both endurance and closed course.

Is there anyone else you’d like to thank?

I would like to thank my wife Evelyn and JetRenu and all the sponsors and promoters that support the PWC community .
