I am #DRIVENBYPASSION: Hannah Hulett

MotorActionMedia.com had the pleasure of chatting with Hannah Hulett, as a part of the #DrivenByPassion series, presented by ProWatercraft Racing.com., the handling component experts. Learn more about this rising star in our exclusive interview.

Hannah, I understand that you’ve been around the Jet Ski world for a while, but you only just recently started racing. Could you tell me a little about how you got involved?

I’ve been watching my Aunt Amy race since I was 2 years old, in 2004. I remember being so into her racing & watching her that I couldn’t wait until I was able to do it. I remember counting down the years for what seemed like forever until I was finally old enough to race.

Could you tell me a little about your Jet Ski, and what classes you race in?

I race a Kawasaki SXR 800, & I will be in junior 13-15 next season.

I understand you just recently added some Pro Watercraft Racing front sponsons to your ski. What differences did you notice after racing with them?

I love my new Pro Watercraft Racing.com front sponsons so much, I was so lucky to have them put on during the world finals in Havasu this past season. They just make everything about riding my boat easier. It’s so much easier to turn my ski, & the waves underneath the boat feel so much smoother while I’m riding it.

I understand that your aunt is multi-time World & National Champion, Amy Green. What influence does she have on your racing? What have you learned from her?

Amy has a lot of influence on me, she’s the reason that I’m even able to race, & she’s the reason that I even started, I love advice from her because it helps me improve a lot.

Front sponsons by Pro Watercraft Racing.com are perfect for young riders. Additional stability and better cornering can drastically improve their game, and make it easier for them to ride their ski.

Can you tell me who some of your Jet Ski role models are? Why are they your role models?

There are a lot of people that have influences on my riding, & that I look up to, but I’d have to say that my 2 biggest role models are Amy Green & Ray Proulx, they’ve taught me so much & they always have the best advice for me, I definitely would not be able to race if I didn’t have all of their help.

Do you think it’s important for a racer to have passion? Why so?

Yes, I think it’s very important for a racer to have passion. If a racer has passion, that means that they want to achieve, & they want to be better. Passionate people are eager to practice & learn more things, & get better every day, & in order to get better, you need to want to.

What are your plans and goals for next season?

My goals next year are to race the CanAm tour, the AquaCross tour, & to race in the world finals again.

How do you feel about moving up to the 13-15 division?

I feel like moving up to the 13-15 division will be a lot more of a challenge, but I’m looking forward to that & racing with new people & also some of the same from last year.

Is there anyone you would like to thank?

I would like to thank Amy Green & Ray Proulx, for being such a huge part of my racing, Chris Hagest, & my sponsors, Fly Racing, Hydroturf, Quakysense, BNJ Parts, & Amy Green Racing, & my family because they all help me so much & I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without them.
