I’ve been around the sport all my life, my dad raced. I started riding when I was 3 years old. I started racing the year they introduced the juniors class, back when it was 14-15 year olds only.

MAM: You killed it racing P1 AquaX last season, could you tell me about that experience? Will you be racing AquaX again this year?

Yeah, Cocoa Beach last year was awesome. That series just brings a new light to the sport. I love surf races so that’s a plus also. 15 minute motos in the surf makes you prove yourself and makes it about the rider instead of horsepower. AquaX will be the main goal this year. I will be doing the whole series and hopefully win the title.

MAM: Could you tell me a little about your race ski? What is under the hood?

Trinity Vector-K hull. The motor is a Raceski.com, Kawasaki 1100 built by David Bassett who does all motor work along with couple other Trinity riders such as Cody McCallum and Johnny Smith. It pretty much has everything done to it than you can possibly do to one.

It’s a Trinity Vector-X hull with the same motor package that’s in my standup. We built the ski for me just to have another class to race for fun and more track time with the ski stock class being up and down with entries and rule changes. I was very impressed with how similar it is to the standup model. Also that ski is for sale if anyone is interested since my focus is on AquaX this year.

MAM:From your time in Jet Ski racing, what has been your favorite memory?

I would have to say 2012 National Tour running Pro Ski Stock and missing only one round, winning the overall in Racine, WI and then I finished 3rd overall on tour.

MAM: You kicked off 2015 with a bang by winning the Bradenton Riverwalk Regatta race, what was that like?

That was a different experience racing in front of 100k people. It was a lot of fun and a good start to the season to see where I’m at with not being on a ski since last November. I went 2-1 for the overall so that was good and I just plan to build on that. As far as the event I think it was great idea and we were there to put on a show for people that have never seen jetski racing so that was awesome.

MAM: How do you plan on keeping the momentum going this season?

Now it’s time to start training and get the boats dialed in for the upcoming season. A lot of riders were in Bradenton for the race that will be running AquaX, so now I need to build off that and just keep progressing.

MAM: What goals do you have for 2015?

My goals this year are simple, when it comes down to the final round at AquaX, I want to have myself in a great position to win that championship and win the team title with Eric Francis and his team.

10959849_932084383482729_3043290027717639027_nMAM: What was the transition like between your former race boat, a Hydrospace with an 1100 3-cylinder Kawasaki motor, and the Trinity Vector hull with the 3-cylinder Kawi?

It wasn’t that hard, I have raced pretty much every hull out there. I felt like the Hydro was the easiest to race, but with all the aftermarket hulls I felt like I was putting myself at a disadvantage with the longer intake sections and the more aggressive bottom hulls. I met Bobby from Trinity at a region 7 race two years ago and it went from there he hooked me up with one of the best hulls out there in my opinion.

MAM: What do you love most about Jetskiing, Broc? What keeps you in it?

I wish I could say the money. This is really all I have ever done other than my real job. The people that’s in the sport that I get to hangout with every weekend during the race season its pretty much a big family. I haven’t met a person that races that I didn’t like.

MAM: Is there anyone you would like to thank?

First I would like to thank my Dad for getting me in the sport and supporting me for so many years. My girlfriend Bailey Bassett that’s at every race with me. David Bassett who has put all the time in over the last 5 years building these skis. Preston McCallum for getting us to the races. My teammate Cody McCallum. My part time holders David Oneal and Che Britt. My sponsors Raceski.com, Central Ga Powersports, Spy Optics, ODI grips, Trinity Composites, and Eric Francis for the help this year in AquaX.
