MotorActionMedia.com catches a few questions with ATV athlete and JetRenu team member.

11755713_1607575196168730_643657052966370295_nMatthew, could you tell us how you got involved in racing?

I started racing about two years ago due to my friend, now manager Lisa taking a video of me at the track and sent it to her friend who at the time had a race team. Her friend said I have talent and I should come to the next race and watch his rider and see if I thought I could do it. From that day on I’ve been on fire for racing and training.

We understand that you’re a tough competitor, how do you prepare and train for your races?

I feel I have to work harder than my other competitors because they have been racing for a much longer time then I have. I strive to make myself better in every way on an off the bike. I go to the gym and do various workouts and I also ride downhill mountain bikes for cross training. During the week before the race I will do a total of ten motos, three seven lap sprints and seven ten to fifteen lap motos.

What are your goals for the future?

Last year was my first year in the pro mx ATV  class. This year I have high expectations and plan on winning two pro titles in the Dirt series and Quad X.  I would also like to hit a couple national races to see how I stack up for the following year. Some may call me a dreamer but I feel If I work hard and I know coming into the next season I will be the guy to look out for.

How has your season been so far?

The season was going great until halfway through when I had a terrible crash in practice at Glen Halen raceway. I broke three ribs, collapsed and punctured my right lung and spent a week in the hospital. The ribs healed six weeks later but I was unable to put any excess strain on my lung. I walked for weeks pushing the limit every day until I felt confident I could start training again. I slowly worked my way back to doing long motos and because I’m determined and confident in myself I was able to win the very last race of the year thanks to all the support of my sponsors and my friend/manager Lisa.

We also understand that you’re a member of team JetRenu, what is your favorite JetRenu product, and what do you use it on?

My favorite product is the MX RENU SHIELD because after I wash my bike and dry it off I spray the product on it to give it a long lasting shine. In motocross the bikes are pelted with mud and rocks so it is important to keep your bikes looking like new. I would recommend Jet Renu’s full product line because it’s what everyone needs to help keep their bikes looking their best. They offer a wide variety of products like soap; cleaners, degreaser, shields, plastic polish, dry wash and more. Unlike other companies that just want to sell products that work okay, Jet Renu’s products work great and are very cost effective to the consumer.

Is there anyone you would like to thank?

I would like to thank my sponsors – Jet Renu, 59 Graphix, ProStart Racing  and my Manager Lisa.

This interview was brought to you by JetRenu.
